## Questions authors ask

- **Do I keep the rights to my book?** Yes. You keep the copyright and every right. CNG Studios registers the ISBN; the book is yours.
- **Who receives the royalties?** You do. You upload to your own store accounts, so the stores pay you directly. CNG never takes a share.
- **Whose name appears as the publisher?** Your imprint's. The copyright page reads "Published by [your imprint], an imprint of CNG Studios LLC", because CNG Studios owns the ISBN block.
- **Can I sell the same book on Amazon and Barnes & Noble?** Yes. Free store ISBNs only work in their own store; an ISBN from CNG works everywhere.
- **How many ISBNs does my book need?** One per format: paperback, hardcover and ebook. A Kindle ebook can also go up without one.
- **Do I need my own ISBN to self-publish?** Not for one store. You need your own ISBN for one number that works in every store, or your own imprint as publisher of record.
- **How much does an ISBN cost?** Direct from Bowker, over $100 for a single ISBN, self-registered. CNG's Imprint ISBN package is $39 including registration, barcode and record maintenance.
- **Is CNG Studios a traditional publisher?** No, a self-publishing service. It does not acquire the book or take a share of sales.
